United Lube Oil Company (UNILUBE) is a limited liability company which started its commercial production in June 2002. UNILUBE takes pride in finding itself as a leading and integrated facility of used oil collection, processing & exporter of base oils and byproducts in Saudi Arabia.

UNILUBE is located in Jubail Industrial City, the jurisdiction of which comes under the Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu. The plant’s state-of-the-art technology is a pioneer in itself and leaves no industrial waste in the form of solid, liquid or air emissions.

WHY RE-REFINE USED-OIL?

Effective management of used lubricating oil is important to human health and to the environment.

• It is estimated that more than 300,000 mt of lubricating oil is sold each year in Saudi Arabia but large percentage of the used oil is unaccounted.

• Waste oil, if not properly handle, can result in devastating impact on natural resources such as groundwater, marine life, and soil quality.

• EPA quoted: "Just one gallon of used oil has the potential to contaminate up to one million gallons of drinking water."

• Burning used-oil (formed in engine) is highly toxic that can release carcinogens.

• Environmental, health and community safety consideration about the fate of used/waste oil must be addressed.

• Managing waste, including used-oil, lies primarily with Government and Territory Environment Protection agencies (MEPA and Royal Commission).

• Development of a coordinated and effective used-oil recycling system as best solution to deal with the issue is acknowledged.

• Sharing a common belief for a better and safer future of Saudi Arabia gave way to the inception of Unilube.
